When replacing clutch steel plates, inspect the clutch basket, inner hub and pressure plate for signs of wear, notching or heat damage. Check removed steel plates for blue discolouration, glazing or warping. For optimum clutch feel and service life, replace friction plates and clutch springs at the same time as the steel plates.
