Wemoto also stocks both standard replacement and performance variators for scooters, as well as rollers and springs in various weights and sizes.

Motorcycle clutch parts

Most Japanese motorcycles use a 'wet' clutch – the clutch runs in oil which both cools and lubricates the components. Scooters, such as Peugeot and Piaggio, use a centrifugal clutch instead.

Clutch slipping, sticking or dragging are all indications of problems within the clutch. This can be an incorrectly adjusted clutch, worn or warped plates, too heavy an oil, and more.

Clutch friction plates are the most commonly replaced clutch parts and are available in cork or kevlar varieties. Most clutch friction plates require soaking in oil overnight before fitting.

If the correct 'stack height' has not been attained by replacing the friction plates, the metal spacer plates may be worn and also need replacing. Wemoto stocks only steel spacer plates, which offer greater lifespan and wear resistance than alloy plates.

Clutch kits

A basic clutch kit contains all the friction plates needed for the best price, and for convenience. Alternatively, a complete clutch kit contains all the clutch parts you’ll need - friction plates, spacer plates and springs.

EBC racing upgrade clutch kits are available for many models. These include heavy-duty cork or Kevlar lined plates, heavy-duty springs, and may (depending on the upgrade kit) contain replacement steel spacer plates.
